The responsibilities of a business employer doesn’t focus on giving the customers the satisfaction and giving them great service alone. You also have to bear in mind that beyond that exceptional service, you have to make sure that your building is protected from accidents and catastrophes. There’s a lot of laws and regulations that you should always keep in mind in order to make your establishment safe. Check out some blogs regarding firefighting job in order to give you some ideas.

The Fire Safety Order of 2005 states that any business or building owner should make sure that everybody that goes in and out of his/ her building (whether they be tenants, employees and customers) be protected with from fire. You should really pay attention in this order because it protects you and your establishment from potential risks, thus a fire risk assessment should be conducted.

Below are some checklist that you should consider in conducting a fire risk assessment, this can be done by the owner or by a fire Marshall. The person assigned in this task checks the entire building for the following:

A. Any source of ignition and oxygen, these to work together to start a fire. So without the other one, fire is actually impossible to start as what they say, it takes two to tango.

B. Fire hazardous things vary in every workplace, may it be stock of papers, a pile of wood or some cooking equipment in restaurants.

C. The people who are in great risk in case a fire happens. Employees who are stationed far from the fire exit or the people with disabilities.

Based on the above mentioned assessment, the person assigned in the fire assessment should think for safety measures that should be done in order to make the establishment a much safer place. Purchasing firefighting tools or choosing the right safety and exit signs should be done in order to make the place safe from fire.

It would also be advisable to conduct a seminar to teach them about firefighting tips. Educating your employees will help you minimize the risk of fire. Teaching your employees about tips in firefighting gives you the confidence that whatever happens, they are well informed thus accidents during a fire is least likely to happen. It may be a lot of work but in the end, it’s all worth it.
